ISU President John Wensveen to Deliver Keynote at 7th Annual Space Coast Symposium & Expo

Dr. John Wensveen, President of the International Space University (ISU), will be one of the keynote speakers at the 7th Annual Space Coast Symposium & Expo, hosted by the Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce. The event, scheduled for August 22,2025, brings together leaders from across the aerospace, defense, and technology sectors to explore the region’s growing role in the global space economy.

Dr. Wensveen will speak on “Accelerating the Global Space Economy Through Education, Innovation, and Collaboration,” offering insights into how international partnerships, talent development, and interdisciplinary learning are propelling the next generation of space leadership. As President of ISU—the world’s premier institution for space education—Dr. Wensveen is at the forefront of shaping a workforce ready to meet the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving space industry.

“I’m honored to join the Space Coast community for this important conversation,” said Dr. Wensveen. “Florida’s Space Coast is a launchpad not only for rockets, but also for innovation, policy, and international cooperation that will define our space future.”

The Symposium & Expo attracts industry executives, elected officials, educators, and entrepreneurs, making it a key forum for collaboration and investment in one of the fastest-growing space hubs in the world. This year’s event will highlight the impact of commercial space, the rise of spaceports, and the intersection of space with other advanced technologies.

Dr. Wensveen’s keynote will underscore ISU’s commitment to empowering students and professionals through global programs such as the flagship Space Studies Program (SSP), the Southern Hemisphere Space Studies Program (SHSSP), the Master of Space Studies (MSS), and Executive Space Courses. These immersive learning experiences span multiple continents and disciplines, preparing a new generation of space leaders. Under ISU’s ambitious MOON SHOT 2030 strategic plan, the university aims to launch global satellite campuses—including in Florida’s Space Coast region—to expand access to world-class space education and strengthen local and international collaboration.
