SSP LOC TEAM ARRIVES TO SEOUL !
This week, we ensured that everything is running seamlessly in preparation for the upcoming SSP 2025 program in Seoul, South Korea. This year’s edition is being hosted by two esteemed partners: the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) and Hanyang University’s ERICA Campus
All staff members arrived safely at Incheon Airport and transferred to the AURA Hotel on that same day, where we spent our first few nights. As one might expect, we began exploring the hotel’s surroundings shortly after our arrival. On the very day we checked in, we stumbled upon a local talent show just around the corner — it ran from 9 a.m. until late into the night. What a warm and vibrant welcome from the city of Ansan!
On our first official working day, we traveled by bus to the dormitories, where we completed staff onboarding and registration. Later in the day, we participated in team-building activities that allowed us to better understand one another’s strengths and areas for growth, helping us to bond and grow as a cohesive team.

On the very next day we settled down in our offices, where we will work and unwind for the rest of the summer. On the way to the building, where our offices and classrooms are located, we noticed SSP25 banners which decorate the entire street in front of the building. This is the place we met our local South Korean organization team, which worked very hard even before we landed in South Korea. Every TA was assigned with a LOC TA for the departmental activities and the visits planned outside of the ERICA campus.

For the rest of the days we were getting familiar with the set-up of the lecture rooms, the lecture room computers, our schedules and responsibilities, and everything that needed to be done this week in order to make sure the experience of participants, who arrive on Saturday 28th of june, is as good as possible! On Thursday 26th of june we all moved to the ERICA campus where we settled and buckled up for the upcoming ride of SSP25 in Seoul!

Our working week finished by all-you-can-eat dinner together with our local team from South Korea. We also celebrated G2’s birthday.

On Saturday we finally welcomed our participants! Gave them all their goodies and set them off for an exciting journey.
