The Executive Space Course (ESC) is coming to Japan. Organized in collaboration between the International Space University (ISU), Hokkaido University, and UNISEC-Global, this intensive program is designed for professionals eager to broaden their understanding of the space sector.
Hokkaido University, or Hokudai, is a public research university in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Founded in 1918, it is the fifth-oldest government-authorised university in Japan and one of the former Imperial Universities, renowned for its strong research tradition and pioneering role in agricultural and scientific education.
UNISEC-Global empowers individuals and institutions worldwide by making space science and technology accessible across all nations and sectors. Committed to inclusivity and global collaboration, it unites people in advancing space for the betterment of humanity.
As Asia continues to be a key player in space exploration and innovation, this course provides the knowledge and connections needed to navigate the region’s growing space landscape.
OBJECTIVES:
The course, taught in English, aims to:
- Provide a neutral and global overview of space and space-related subjects
- Explain core engineering and technical concepts in a simple manner
- Deliver a greater understanding of the challenges and opportunities of the space sector
- Give an insight into the traditional space markets (telecom, navigation, earth observation…) as well as new space economy.
WHAT WILL I GAIN?
Participants will leave the course with knowledge and skills enabling them to understand and communicate more effectively with their colleagues in other disciplines.
They will develop their comprehension and expertise of space related activities and terminology.
METHODOLOGY:
This intense course exposes participants to the interdisciplinary, international and intercultural learning environment of the International Space University.
The course is conducted through lectures and experiential learning with workshops and case studies. A challenging project encapsulating all major aspects learned during the week and applying concurrent engineering to a modern telecommunications satellite ends the week.

FEES
STANDARD FEE: 3900€ (632,000JPY), which includes the course fee, all course materials, all lunches, a reception, and two evening dinners.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration will be complete through the payment of the full fee by 1 October 2025.
