OBJECTIVES:

  • Gain a clear, accessible overview of Copernicus satellite capabilities and services
  • Explore practical applications in climate resilience, including greenhouse gas monitoring, land use, water resources, and vegetation health
  • Build confidence through hands-on experience with data access, processing, and interpretation

FORMAT AND ACTIVITIES:

  • Morning Sessions:
    Expert-led lectures by ISU faculty and invited specialists from our innovation and policy networks. Topics range from data infrastructure to applied case studies across agriculture, insurance, environmental science, and more.
  • Afternoon Workshops (Led by SERTIT):
    Practical sessions where participants will:
    • Identify and retrieve relevant Copernicus datasets
    • Analyze data related to water dynamicssoil health, and forest conditions
    • Learn foundational satellite processing techniques and tools

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

This course is ideal for:

  • Graduate students (including ISU MSS/MSc, geography, Earth sciences, and economics students from the University of Strasbourg)

No prior technical expertise is required. Participants will be equipped to advocate for and apply Copernicus data in policy, business, and community contexts.
