Tokyo, Japan – July 7, 2025 – The International Space University (ISU) deepened its global engagement in Japan during a recent event hosted by Cross U in Tokyo, where a formal signing ceremony was held between ISU, Hokkaido University, and UNISEC Global. This new partnership marks a significant milestone in advancing international cooperation and workforce development in the space sector.
As part of the agreement, Hokkaido University will host ISU’s Executive Space Course (ESC) in October 2025, welcoming professionals from government, industry, and academia for an immersive program exploring the global space ecosystem. Enrollment is now open, and the course is available to participants from all countries and sectors.
The signing took place during an event at the Cross U collaboration space, where Dr. John Wensveen, President of ISU, and Stirling Forbes, founder of Forbes-Space and an ISU Master of Space Studies alumnus, presented ISU’s educational model to more than 20 Japanese space companies. Forbes-Space is supporting ISU with global partnership development efforts, with a focus on creating new bridges between international stakeholders and the Japanese space community.
“This agreement strengthens our commitment to building international pathways in space education,” said Dr. Wensveen. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Hokkaido University and UNISEC Global in hosting the Executive Space Course and look forward to welcoming professionals from across Japan and around the world.”
The event also served as a platform to promote dialogue and collaboration with key players in Japan’s growing space sector. Attendees were invited to consider participation in the upcoming Nihonbashi Space Week 2025, to be held October 28–31, which offers exhibition, pitch, and global stage opportunities.
