SpaceUp Rome - A unique place for space enthusiasts to meet up!

Imagine a whole conference, we mean “unconference”, where your ideas can be shared during informal conversations with people who think alike and have the same passion about space as you!

Imagine a space event where there are no spectators but everyone is a participant. This is SpaceUp!

After the first SpaceUp in San Diego, California, in 2010, many SpaceUp events have been successfully held all around the world, including one at the ISU Central Campus during the last spring. This year, SpaceUp is landing in Italy for the first time and ISU is co-sponsoring the event! Valentina Boccia, SSP13 and Giulia Federico, SSP11 are greatly involved in bringing SpaceUp to the heart of the historic city of Rome. It will be held on the weekend of October 24th-25th at University “La Sapienza”, right next to the magnificent Colosseum.

“It will be a wonderful opportunity to network and interact with people interested in the space sector. Think outside of the box! Any great project or business always starts from informal and impromptu conversations. And SpaceUp Rome is the right place to do that!”, says Valentina.

“SpaceUp Rome is the ideal occasion for an ISU alumni reunion in one of the most ancient cities in the world! Talking about space just next to the Colosseum represents the perfect link between the past and the future of humankind”, says Remco Timmermans, SpaceUp Board of Directors and SSP13 alumnus.

SpaceUp Rome has been generously sponsored by the European Space Agency (ESA), the Italian Space Agency (ASI), GM Spazio, Thales Alenia Space-Italia (TAS-I), Association of Italian Space Companies (AIPAS), Planetek Italia, Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), Sapienza Aerospace Students Association (SASA), and Frascati Scienza as media partner.
