Master of Space Studies

Designed for students looking for the competitive edge that will help them obtain a career in the space sector, professionals interested in making a career move into or within the space sector, and researchers wishing to broaden their knowledge or make the move from academic life into the space industry.

Space Studies Program

Two-month course for postgraduate students and professionals of all disciplines. The curriculum covers the principal space related fields, both non-technical and technical. The shared experience of an international, interactive working environment is an ideal networking forum leading to the creation of an extensive, international, multidisciplinary professional network.

Southern Hemisphere Program

Intensive five week, live-in experience built around an international, intercultural, and interdisciplinary educational philosophy for which ISU is renowned. The program provides a multidisciplinary understanding of the key activities and areas of knowledge required by today’s space professions.

Executive Space Course

Provides an overview of space-related subjects for professionals of diverse backgrounds, including marketing, finance, law & contracts management. Professionals leave with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to communicate more effectively with their technical colleagues.

ISU Space Studies Program SSP17 – Chair Announcement


This year again a large number of faculty applied to be a chair of either the core lectures, departments or team projects, all of which compose the two-month Space Studies Program (SSP).

After confirmation from ISU’s academic council on the selection of the chairs for SSP17, Dr. Omar Hatamleh, SSP17 director states:

"The SSP17 chairs have been selected! We are happy to have a great diverse team of chairs with solid experience for the next Space Studies Program. The Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) will next year host the 30th Space Studies Program run by the International Space University. During the program, hundreds of space exploration experts will share their knowledge with participants drawn from around the world."

The Space Studies Program (SSP), an intense two-month professional development course for postgraduate students and professionals of all disciplines, is a unique educational experience. The curriculum covers the principal space related fields, both non-technical and technical and ranges from policy and law, business and management and humanities to life sciences, engineering, physical sciences and space applications.

SSP17, the 30th Space Studies Program session will be hosted by the Cork Institute of Technology, Cork in Ireland from 26 June to 25 August 2017.
