The space market is in a transient phase. Originally a governmental market, the commercial space market has been growing constantly the last decades and, according to the figures published in the 2008 Space Report, now accounts for some 70% of the global space activity. This, evidently, is leading to new requirements on the space workforce in general and on (future) space managers in particular.
